Quality Framework

At the New York Association of Community and Continuing Education Conference in 2008 and 2009, the Adult Education and Workforce Development Team of the New York State Education Department introduced Quality Frameworks to the adult education field. AEWD Team members were assigned to lead research groups to develop guidance for the seven components.

NYSED Office of Adult Education and Workforce Development initiated a research and investigatory approach to the development of a "Quality Framework".

What Does QUALITY mean?

Assurance that every New York State Adult Education program strives to provide:

EXCELLENCE in academics,

PREPARATION for workforce participation,

UNDERSTANDING of civic responsibilities, and

ENGAGEMENT in children's education.
