Sub-Committee on Workforce Investment Vouchers and NYC Licensed Proprietary Schools
The Advisory Council and BPSS are hoping to form a committee that will reach out to the New York City Department of Small Business Services (DSBS), to discuss the three-tier voucher program that has recently been implemented by Work Force.
Many schools feel that some of the recent changes are detrimental to both the schools and prospective students. One concern is that students may not receive the necessary number of hours to master these courses, as schools may adjust the hours to compensate for the smaller voucher amounts. Another concern is that some schools are receiving far more than the going rate for programs. This will be an opportunity for schools to discuss issues and bring them to the attention of BPSS and DSBS.
