Disability Tab: Documenting Impairment

Documenting the impairment for the Primary and Secondary Impairment requires identifying a:

  • Condition that is, or results in, an impediment to employment (first two digits in the coding), AND
  • Cause or Source of the Condition (last two digits). The Conditions are further classified as Sensory/Communicative, Physical and Mental Conditions.

Both the disabling Condition and the Cause/Source (four digit code) must be identified for a Primary or Secondary Impairment. A Disability at Application is not required; if it is documented, it requires both a Condition and a Cause (four digits), but one or both can be identified as Unknown.
