Official GED® document status may be verified ONLY by the issuance of a duplicate GED® Diploma and / or Transcript. For information obtaining a duplicate copy of a GED® Diploma / Transcript, please see: Request for a duplicate diploma / transcript.
Verify Status using the GED® Status Report Service
Welcome to the New York State Education Department GED® Status Report Service. This service has replaced the automated phone system. To use this service, you must have your social security number, or GED® ID number, and your date of birth. Please note that GED® status reports are not official copies of New York State GED® diplomas and transcripts. To obtain an official copy of your diploma or transcript, please download Attachment H 
(36kb) and submit that completed form to the New York State GED® Testing Office.
