“For everyone hired through Arc of Otsego and ACCES-VR, the only goal in mind is for them to excel – they always want to do their best. Arc of Otsego job coaches have been very helpful. With one particular employee who worked overnights, the job coach made it a point to be here and work with him until he was settled in. The follow-up has been great.”

"We have been working with ACCES-VR for nearly 2 years now and to say that it has been a success would be an understatement. We have gained two great employees who are hard working, friendly and take great pride in their work. We will continue to work with ACCES-VR in the future for our employment needs. "

Radisson
"We currently have three employees who were hired through the Arc of Steuben and ACCES-VR, two of whom have been with Radisson Hotel Corning for over two years. One of these employees, Ray, not only won the Employee of the Year Award for the Food and Beverage Department but also was voted by his coworkers as the Employee of the Year for Radisson Hotel Corning. He has since moved to the Laundry Department and my department misses him."

"Ray has been such a positive influence on his coworkers. He comes to work on time, works hard, always displays a good attitude, and is a team player. That's all we ask for in an employee. He sets a great example for everyone."

Camelot
Print and Copy Center
"Over two years ago, Camelot established a relationship with Northeast Career Planning and New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) to become a Preferred Source vendor for Reproduction services. Since then, we have had the opportunity to hire over 6 full time consumers to meet our employment needs. The benefits of working with ACCES-VR have been many. Employees are pre-screened, quality individuals. Job coaches are always available to work with us during the training process ensuring that a potential hire is well suited for the position.
Along with the community involvement and reward of providing an individual with a disability meaningful employment, working with ACCES-VR has given us the opportunity to contract with several state agencies servicing their reproduction and copy needs. We have had great success with the employees that we have hired thorough ACCES-VR making them our first resource for hiring. "

"We’ve found that not only do our ACCESS-VR/YAI interns and employees benefit from their employment with Randall’s Island Sports Foundation (www.randallsisland.org), but also our entire crew benefits from the experience of working with these consumers. Specifically, the relationship fosters team work, the sharing of knowledge, understanding and good morale."
