Attending a ACCES-VR Community Information Meeting is the recommended 1st step. Meetings are regularly scheduled across the Mid-Hudson District, at convenient times and locations. As seating is limited, all persons wishing to attend a Meeting are required to secure an appointment. Guests, family, and the general public are welcomed.

Agenda

The Community Information Meeting is a presenter format. Individual situations and circumstances will not be discussed. No decisions regarding VR eligibility or services will be made at these meetings. The agenda includes:

  • Overview of ACCES-VR… who we are, and what we do
  • Eligibility … who do we serve
  • Application Process … how does the process work
  • Readiness for Vocational Rehabilitation Services … when & if  to engage VR
  • Planning … what is the employment goal, and how will it be achieved
  • Employment Services … what assistance is available & required
  • Rights & Responsibilities

Notes

  • If attending a Meeting, please arrive 10-15 minutes early.
  • Persons without a confirmed appointment, and late arrivals, will not be admitted.  Missed appointments will have to be re-scheduled.
  • Meetings are currently being scheduled for Poughkeepsie, Mahopac, Middletown, Newburg, Cornwall, Monticello, Kingston. In case of inclement weather, a Community Information Meeting will be cancelled, if the Schools in that location have been closed.
