There are 3 license levels for teachers licensed by BPSS listed below. To apply for a Permit, Provisional, or Full license, you must complete an application and supply BPSS with all necessary documentation required for the level and license area(s) in which you wish to be licensed.

Permit - Permits are valid for 1 year and are not renewable.

Provisional - Provisional licenses are valid for 3 years and are not renewable.
To qualify for a provisional license, you must also have completed a 30-clock hour course in the methods of teaching through a Bureau-approved association or 3 semester credits of college coursework in methods of teaching.

Full - Full licenses are valid for 4 years and are renewable.
To qualify for a Full license, you must also have completed an additional 60-clock hours in Professional Education through a Bureau-approved association or an additional 6 semester credits of college course work in Professional Education. "Renewable" refers to a person's ability to possess a specific Full license multiple times. There is not a "renew" license link on the BPSS application system. Applicants must log into the BPSS system using the Public Applications role to apply/"renew" Full license(s) as needed.
