Snap Into Success

Nicole was first connected with ACCES-VR in 2021 while attending Rush-Henrietta High School. Working closely with her counselor, Stacy, she explored services and career paths that matched her interests and abilities. Although she faced some academic challenges, Nicole gained valuable employability skills through a variety of work experiences. A vocational assessment further helped her refine her career goal: photography. She also completed a driving evaluation, which led to earning her driver’s license independently.
With support from ACCES-VR, Nicole was able to purchase the professional photography equipment required by one of her employers, giving her the tools she needed to succeed. In 2023, she achieved her employment goal and was hired by a photography company to be a traveling school photographer. One year later, Nicole transferred to a Portrait Studio, located in a photo department store.
When Nicole later relocated to North Carolina, she was able to continue with the same employer. Her perseverance and growing independence opened doors for advancement, and after a manager left the company, Nicole had the experience and qualifications to secure a management role. With increased pay and responsibility, she now excels as a leader, overseeing two studio locations.
Nicole is grateful for the guidance and support that helped her build skills, pursue her passion, and grow in her career!
